THE ENTERPRISE--DETAILS MATTER
This may look like a short edition, but if you open and read the attached files, it is about the same length as usual. I saw no reason to "rewrite" or excerpt from the excellent pieces I have linked/attached for you.
WHO MIGHT BE OBAMA'S OPPONENT IN 2012
Look at the list below and offer feedback as to your numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 choices, and 2-3 you would NOT support, if there are those. I know what I think but I am struggling with a problem between experience and knowhow and electability! (The only ones I know I will not support are Ron Paul & Sarah Palin! She needs to stick with Fox News. He needs to remain a voice of Libertarianism in the GOP.)
IF your favorite is not on my list, please tell me who it is (and why, briefly). If I have missed any viable/declared candidates, please tell me who.
See the problem we have?
Copy this list and add: "Yes, No or Maybe" and return it to me via email.
Mitt Romney
Mike Huckabee
Newt Gingrich
Haley Barbour
Mitch Daniels
Tim Pawlenty
Ron Paul
Sarah Palin
Herman Cain
John Thune
Mike Pence
Chris Christie
Rick Parry
Jon Huntsman
Michael Bloomberg
Donald Trump
Who else??????
By the way, check out Herman Cain if you have not heard of him. I'd move him way up on my list, right now. I'd be happy to share my "Yes/No/Maybe" but I didn't want to bias your responses.
COMPLEXITY--IT'S BAD AND GETTING WORSE
It seems that my worries were misguided about my book THE COMPLEXITY CRISIS becoming dated, now that it is about 2 years old. Complexity is getting worse, not better. Companies that have already "saved their way to earnings growth" are now desperately seeking growth in low growth--or no growth markets. How? Proliferation--of almost everything. Proliferation is NOT innovation. It may add some incremental sales--or not. It certainly adds hidden costs, and some costs that are not so hidden. The number of calls, emails and indications of interest in the topic and the book continue to grow.
WANT A DEAL?
I made a hot buy from the publisher: For readers of THE ENTERPRISE (and their friends, contacts, clients, etc.) I am offering a HOT DEAL! I will sell you signed (multiple) copies of THE COMPLEXITY CRISIS for only $4.00 each (plus shipping costs). That's about half the lowest amazon price, and it is still $10 for a Kindle edition. If you want some useful books to pass around--or if by some chance you haven't read it ("shame on you!"), just email me and tell me how many copies, Companies that read and heed what it says--and then take action--can usually add about 1 full point to their net profit. That's a pretty good return for reading a $4 book! I am talking to more people now about doing this than I did a year or two ago!
A NEW MOTTO FOR THE NY TIMES (THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY HOUSE ORGAN?)
Instead of its decades old "All the news that's fit to print," I propose "All the news that can be distorted to support what we think." This vaunted newspaper is losing circulation, advertisers and its integrity/ethics which started leaving a long time ago when writers made up facts for stories that didn't exist. Now it runs biased polls, and is even altering criteria for its "best sellers lists" of books, to dump political titles in with "Self-help" and "How to" books. Why? Too many conservative authors' books are running up to the top of the Non-Fiction Bestsellers Lists--so the NY Times will simply hide them away somewhere else. So much for the "freedom of the press" --it is being flagrantly misused--and it's getting worse.
THE EXPLANATION MATTERS A LOT--HERE'S A GOOD ONE
http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/editorials/stories/2011/03/14/gop-has-to-explain-itself-better.html
When there is polarized action like that in Wisconsin, the explanation of the basis for new legislation matters a lot. We have that happening in OH right now too. If political leaders could explain better, it might take some of the misguided emotion away. So often, the emotion is fanned into flames by people who only cite the pieces of the legislation that support their desires. If Americans would take more than the 7 second sound bite, and actually read or look into these new laws, they'd see that the intention and the outcome are to help them--all of them, because public union employees are taxpayers too. Linda Chavez does a great job of explaining that in this Op Ed piece. Click on it; read it; you'll see. (If anyone has trouble getting it to open, here's a pdf file of the text.)

THE SEARCH FOR TRUTH AMIDST MEDIA MISGUIDANCE--THE WEEK MAGAZINE IS A GOOD SOURCE
Many of you know I am a big fan of a thin weekly magazine named The Week. It covers a huge range of subject matter, much of it from secondary sources, but some of it is written specifically for THE WEEK. First of all, if you don't get it and read it, I encourage you to do so. It is absolutely the one MUST READ in my assortment of too many publications. You can get 4 Free issues to see if you like it. There is also a .com version for computer-readers. I find the way THE WEEK chooses opposing viewpoints and presents them to be very useful in seeking the truth in an era of biased journalistic reporting. The attached link will take you to a great piece on public sector unions. Check it out. IF you want to see a pdf file of it, that is also attached.

THE HUMAN CAMERA
Once you see this, you will be blown away. If you have never seen this before, you are in for a treat.
Some of us wonder what the best computer is in the world.
It has to be the Human Brain. It is truly unbelievable what a human can do.
THAT'S IT FOR THIS WEEK.
Let's hope that Spring is just around the corner, and that a strong GOP candidate for President in 2012 begins to emerge soon--it's only 19.5 months away.
