ORGANIZED LABOR TAKES A BIG HIT
This Volkswagen Chattanooga, TN plant was considered the best chance for the UAW to crack the southern US auto industry wide open for unionization. Fortunately, these folks are smart enough that even if they didn't have to pay union dues (TN is a right to work state), they still voted the union down. Unions have (had) a role and a purpose, but to be less and less as they have become much more like what they were formed to oppose--overbearing, controlling, etc.
The real issue is how to take down the public sector unions, which are a much bigger problem than most people realize.

Workers at the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tenn., have voted not to join the United Auto Workers, dealing a devastating blow to the union's hopes of securing a foothold at a foreign-owned auto plant in the South. The UAW's loss, announced late tonight, followed an aggressive anti-union campaign by conservative groups, warnings by state Republican leaders that unionization could jeopardize Volkswagen's tax incentives, and claims by Sen. Bob Corker that a "no" vote would lead VW to expand the plant. Volkswagen had taken a neutral stance on unionization, which would have cleared the way for the company and the UAW to form a German-style "works council" to advise executives on the plants' operations.For more information… http://www.politico.com

Our newest and finest! THE X-47BJust months ago ( July 10, 2013 ) the Navy successfully conducted take-offs and landings from a fairly new nuclear aircraft carrier, the USS George W. Bush, with a new stealth jet called theX-47B. What is so different about this plane is the fact that it is a 'drone'. Yes, it is completely unmanned. Drones come in all sizes, and the X-47B is likely one of the larger ones. What is so ironic about all of this is, the fact that the enemy cannot detect a plane like this in the first place. In the unlikely event they get lucky at shooting one down, there will be no human loss of life or captivity. As you view the flight deck crew signaling the plane, they are simply signaling the on-board cameras, who in turn are being manned by staff inside the command intelligence center ( CIC )onboard the ship.
