The latest shoe to drop on Barack Obama’s failures was the recent announcement of a 2.9% decline in the GDP. Will the White House spin this as “the recovery is now underway?” If the baseline drops far enough, a recovery will eventually occur. The real question, however, is this: how can Barack Obama be failing in so many ways? Incompetents, incompetence, inconceivable—President Obama. Let’s count the ways.
How can Obama be so clueless and uninvolved? He is constantly being “surprised” by news that must be part of his daily briefings. Yet he seems willing to play the role of the naïf president, who is then righteously indignant and upset about the latest surprises.
No doubt he never suspected that he’d awake to the Benghazi tragedy, perpetrated by an al Qaeda that the candidate Obama so vehemently assured Americans was on the run? Inconceivable! Nor would he need to fabricate a series of thinly veiled deceptions using a bogus video as the prop? Inconceivable again!
Surely neither Barack Obama nor his administration ever expected, imagined, or heard about, or was informed of, or kept backup copies of…and on, and on, and on.
- The obvious “dog ate my homework” excuses about how (potentially incriminating) email evidence against IRS leadership was “mysteriously lost” from every form of backup because a computer hard drive crashed. What about the servers on which these emails inevitably resided? Did they crash too? How can an agency that crucifies taxpayers for failing to keep detailed files and backups now claim “sorry, the emails are lost forever?” —“Inconceivable” is an inadequate word.
- The fact that the Obamacare web sites simply didn’t work when they were turned on—and his HHS Secretary knew it. — Inconceivable!
- The fact that under Obamacare, you could NOT keep the health care plan you had, or the doctors you used…period…as the president repeated over and over during his campaign for it! Inconceivable!
- The fact of the IRS attacking his opponents by interfering with their supporting organizations, right before an election. — Inconceivable!
- That fact that NSA was spying on the AP, and on millions of Americans, who were unaware of it? —Inconceivable! (Maybe the NSA has copies of those missing IRS emails?)
- The fact that Fast and Furious arms ended up in the hands of Mexican drug lords, and were used to kill Americans while Obama’s Attorney General claims he knew little or nothing about it? —Inconceivable!
- The fact of Syria’s red line being crossed, after Obama was warned not to “ad lib” such statements—because nobody knew how to back them up. —Inconceivable!
- The fact that a John Kerry wild “Hail Mary idea” led to a Vladimir Putin intervention, in which Syria still has not destroyed its chemical weapons as promised, and may very well be still using them?—Inconceivable!
- The fact that VA hospitals, after six years under Obama’s hand-picked VA Cabinet Secretary, were still a total disaster, and worse yet, “cooking the books” to hide it, while letting veterans suffer—and die—on bogus waiting lists? —Inconceivable!
- The fact that smoking marijuana (which President Obama freely admits he did in college, and which he dismisses as no worse than having a drink of alcohol) has been found to damage the human brain, especially when done during adolescence.— Inconceivable?? NO! Wait…maybe not so “inconceivable” after all.
We have an elected president with zero executive or managerial experience, following an undistinguished stint in the Illinois Senate, during which he accomplished virtually nothing, and then an even shorter time in the U.S. Senate, during which he (want to guess?) accomplished virtually nothing.
This president delivers speeches fluently, often repeating the same lines, using the same phrases, year after year, and does it so artfully that many uninformed and/or misinformed Americans actually believe him and vote for him. Don’t ask him to explain how the economy could drop almost 3% in one quarter, unless you want to hear more “inconceivable” excuses.
It has been said that leaders often surround themselves with people who are like them. Considering the parade of Cabinet members whose terms ended in a scandal and resignation under duress, (and many who should be gone, but aren’t) it is entirely possible that Barack Obama chose people who would make him feel like the smartest man in the room; people he liked, people who had been loyal and agreed with him at every opportunity? Forget about competence. These are acolytes and minions.
Might Barack Obama, whose past choices included such admirable role models as Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright, have chosen this parade of political cronies, lobbyists, former friends and associates who met his criteria (for diversity?) in his administration, never considering the fact that these people were simply unqualified or incompetent to perform the lofty jobs they were given?
Some call Obama incompetent. Others say he is simply uninformed—and to a degree uninterested (until a scandal arises). Is it possible that the American people were fooled, hoodwinked and deceived not once, but twice by a superb campaign organization, into electing a president who is simply incapable, unqualified and/or unwilling to govern?
The only thing sadder than this is that neither of the last two GOP presidential candidates – Vietnam vet Senator John McCain, and accomplished CEO Governor Mitt Romney – took Barack Obama to task with vigor and vehemence that his paper-thin background and record deserved. They should both have “called him out”—big time—as a big-talking poser and a phony. Neither did.
How much worse could things have turned out? They both lost the elections. All self-respecting Americans are now paying the price for incompetents, incompetence, inconceivable—President Obama. What is truly inconceivable is how well Obama fooled the American voters and became elected not once, but twice. That now seems truly “Inconceivable!”
"What's happening to America's standing in the world is not due to incompetence, as some have claimed. This is planned. We are witnessing the Obama administration's embrace of the Muslim Brotherhood creed, which is to destroy America from within. Congress must be responsible to take back America. Nothing less is acceptable."—James A. Lyons, U.S. Navy retired admiral, was commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet and senior U.S. military representative to the United Nations.
How could God let Obama be president?

“How could God let Obama be president?” was the question posed seriously by a religious friend last week. It took a lot of thought to come up with the answer, so sharing it seemed the right thing to do. God created man and gave man free will. That is the ability to choose between right and wrong, wise and foolish decisions in their mortal life. Since elections are a process involving exercise of a freedom—free will in one specific form—voters are able to make decision that are either wise or foolish, or more often, informed or misinformed.
Campaigns are run by another group of people exercising their free will, and the right to influence the actions of others, or at least try to do that. There is nothing that requires campaigns to be accurate, truthful (at least not yet), moral or righteous. In other words, almost anything goes. That’s is the way most campaigns are run. Facts are distorted or misstated. Innuendo is a popular tool. So is misrepresentation of both the candidate’s intentions and talents and those of the opponent.
According to a recent Rasmussen poll, 62% of Americans believe that voters do not have enough say when choosing the country’s political leaders. Only 9% think most Americans are informed voters, and 83% say their fellow Americans don’t know enough about the issues.
Enter the Barack Obama campaigns. His resume was paper-thin, so he had to bulk it up with a combination of hype and histrionics. His experience was sketchy and what there was of it was kind of murky and questionable. Thus the decision was to bury it, hide it or misrepresent it. Did Obama lie? Maybe. Did his campaign lie? Certainly. What is the excuse for this? All politicians lie. All campaigns make promises that will be broken. If everybody does it, so it must be OK, right?
Wrong. It’s not OK, but it is effective. Many voters are not very literate, not very involved, not very knowledgeable, and bluntly, not very smart either. The ones who are all of those things—literate, involved, knowledgeable and smart are split about equally between the two major parties. That meant Obama had to find voting blocs—groups of people—who would “buy what he was selling,” true or not, deliverable or not, accurate or not. One thing he was “selling”—a lot—was that when I am president, the government will take care of you.
A lot of people like that idea. They like getting something for nothing, or at least something that is paid for by other people’s money. They hate taking responsibility for their own lives, because, well, that’s hard. Hard things are hard to do; they take energy, fortitude, work, and so forth. So why do that if this Obama guy will give enough to you to replace what you’d have to work for.
There is also a group of Obama supporters who are smart, wealthy, literate and in favor of bigger and bigger government, because they think government can do more things, better than the people can do for themselves. (That’s their right—remember free will?) They are called “liberals” or Democrats. Given the particular groups of people who support them, they may be right about that, too. So there you have it.
God didn’t put His thumb on the scales in the election. He just let people exercise their free will, right or wrong, moral or immoral, wise or foolish. He figured that those folks who were buying the story Obama and his campaign were selling would find out after the fact that they had been suckered. God allowed that if enough people with better ideas couldn’t take the presidency back from Barack Obama and his campaign whizzes, maybe that was free will at work too. Thus God allowed Obama to have two terms in the White House.
In about 2-1/2 years, the American people, or at least those who vote, will get another chance to exercise their free will. So will the campaigners, the spin artists and the shysters. If the so-called Obama opponents (called conservatives or Republicans) can’t get their act together, and keep bickering about which way is the best way, there is a real chance that God will let someone else of Obama’s ilk win the White House. It might even be a woman!
That thing called free will is a difficult thing to cope with. Whoever cares the most, spins the best stories (true or not), and hypnotized enough of the voters with their pitch, will win elections, and God will simply either grin, or grimace, because free will worked again—even if it makes a mess of things again.
How could God let Obama be president? Free will!
Perhaps Blackwell's most startling revelation comes early in the book: big companies in America are not creating jobs; they are eliminating jobs. The true growth in American jobs--and for that matter the future hopes of America's "working middle class"--is in jobs created by the growth of entrepreneurial companies.
That is why Saving America should be read by America's elected officials--those in the US Congress, in State Houses coast to coast, and most of all by the President, his Cabinet and his Administration. It is among these groups that Roger Blackwell's knowledge, embedded in Saving America, can truly make an enormous difference in our country--if they would truly "get it."
Buy a few and read one, but pass the others on to Congressmen and State Representatives. It is through their legislative efforts that they can create a climate where entrepreneurs can thrive, and by doing that, they will be "Saving America."
