THE FALLOUT IS JUST STARTING
Rick Perry withdrew last week. Scott Walker withdrew this week. Who will be next? It depends on who runs out of money next. There is no doubt that Graham, Jindal, Huckabee, Pataki and Paul are dragging along the bottom. They need to give it up. The GOP would be way better off if this group would just face reality and withdraw. Some of them might hope to throw their support to other candidates, and somehow gain influence that way. Others will need to reassess why they did this at all, and how much of donors money they are wasting. To see the latest poll information go to:

The next round of fall-out will be after the upcoming Oct. 28 CNBC GOP debate--which will be led by the most hostile moderator gang yet. Whoever handles the CNBC Democratic lackeys the best, will fare well, (if their answers contain any solid content).
THE SO-CALLED DEBATES--ARE HAVING AN EFFECT
After the last 11 person debate (please call them "Forums" since there is very little debate involved), Donald Trump was exposed, and fell by a bunch in polls, from mid-30's to mid-20's. Carly Fiorina was fiery and articulate enough to climb from also-ran to 2nd place, jumping Ben Carson temporarily. Marco Rubio stood out from the crowd with his sharp, authoritative comments, and jumped to fourth, and Jeb Bush continues to underwhelm in 5th place. Fiorina's problem is that when her corporate leadership flaws and terrible management results are scrutinized, she will/should suffer. She also suffers from a like-ability deficit, which was obvious in her debate expressions and persona. Content and smarts are great, but people vote for candidates they find like-able. She denies that she's running for the VP slot, but that's how it feels. As nice as Ben Carson seems, he is woefully unprepared to lead the USA in the toughest job on earth. Marco Rubio, on the other hand may be young and relatively inexperiences, but he's older than he looks (44) comes across with the consistently rational, well-informed, and intelligent adult on the stage. He's every bit as good as JFK was, albeit without the Kennedy family money and clout behind him.
SMALL POLLS HAVE LARGE MARGIN OF ERROR
Here's the issue: don't conclude too much from these poll numbers. These polls are based on very small samples of people, usually about 1000+/- and thus the margin of error is 4-5%. Take that margin of error into account and it's unclear exactly where these five candidates rank. Only one thing is clear: the others are trailing badly and that includes two quality candidates: Chris Christie and John Kasich. Jeb Bush would be smart to support Marco Rubio!
TRUMP'S FALL SHOWS THAT HE IS VULNERABLE TO WEAK DEBATE PERFORMANCE, LACK OF DETAILS
When hard content (vs. showmanship) is needed, Trump is falling short. Maybe he will pull it together, and begin actually acting like a candidate instead of a touring reality show host. If he does, his ratings will climb again. As for Ben Carson, he is such good/smart man I almost feel bad for the limited range of what he has to say about the Herculean task of the presidency of the USA. He is out of his element--badly. His funding and core goodness will keep him around, but seriously, does anyone really see this fine man as America's president? For that matter--the next few months will tell whether 1/3 of GOP voters see Donald Trump as potentially the president. This could be a case where the GOP goes to the Convention without a definite leader, and we see and "open convention"--an artifact of the past!
THE GOP HAS A CHANCE TO FIND A NEW LEADER FOR SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE
I don't know much about McCarthy, but his early moves have been underwhelming. He seems like Boehner-lite, with a touch of foot-in-mouth malady. Chafetz might just come in a build a coalition to win the Speaker's spot. Perhaps he will be a more visible, credible and acceptable party leader? It's too soon to tell. Boehner was a good guy who tired of fighting both the impossible Obama-mess and a quarter of his own party--the far-right extremist branch.
FOR PRESIDENT IN 2016, I AM STILL IN MARCO RUBIO'S CAMP. HE IS THE BEST OF THE BUNCH, BUT STILL NEEDS TO BE PAIRED WITH A STRONG EXPERIENCED RUNNING MATE (Kasich?). HE IS THE MOST FEARED CANDIDATE BY THE DEMS--AND THAT'S A GOOD ENDORSEMENT FOR NOW!

THIS PRIMARY SEASON IS CRAZY. DON'T DRAW TOO MANY CONCLUSIONS JUST YET…MADNESS IS FIRMLY ENTRENCHED! by Dan Henninger in the WSJ
WRITING IN THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, Daniel Henninger had these thoughts about the current political "madness." Here are just two excerpts from his excellent column. "Some 30% of Republican voters want as their president the former host of “Celebrity Apprentice.” About the same percentage of Democrats prefer a 74-year-old Socialist who seems to believe federal revenue is created by pixies. The British Labour Party just cast its lot with a leader whose choice for finance minister includes among his interests “fomenting the overthrow of capitalism.” A torrent of Syrian refugees has unhinged European liberalism. Islamic State is drowning history itself in blood, while the pope is giving speeches on climate change. Not least, the future of the slow-growth, anxiety-producing American economy is in the hands of one nice lady named Janet Yellen, who presides over what is literally a central-bank black box. Crazy. A friend last weekend said he thought the story about the University of New Hampshire’s website publishing a bias-free language guide, which declared that use of the word “American” is “problematic,” was a hoax. Of course, it was real." …
"In the U.S. and Western world generally there is a spreading sense of weak or poor political leadership. Because he sits as president of the United States, the lead nation, Barack Obama bears responsibility for much of this madness. His conduct of the presidency, more than all the other pilloried persons in public life, led us to Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. People think politics is a system for getting what they want. So it is, and the vast ideological gulf between the public-sector Democratic Party and private-sector Republicans has a lot to do with the frustration. The other traditional purpose of politics, though, is to be a release valve, a place to vent, to at least be heard. Barack Obama is fundamentally anti-political He claims Congress doesn’t work. That is an excuse. Doing politics, left or right, isn’t his thing. He has transformed the presidential veto power into a blanket nuclear option that deters politics. You think you’re mad? Talk to members of Congress, Republican or Democrat, and you will discover people also driven nuts by the virtual impossibility over two presidential terms of practicing normal politics."

THE ECONOMY STILL IN SHAKY TERRITORY
Consumers are still not so sure about the economy. The so called recovery has not shown in their wages. Only dropping haas prices has put more money in their pockets. Too many Americans are still jobless--not in the statistics, but in reality. They are either on welfare, disability, early retirement, or working 2-3 jobs just to make ends meet. The government and especially the president has yet to face reality: he has no idea how to get this economy moving again. Congress is stuck with the presidential veto hanging over everything it does like the sword of Damocles. No matter how the GOP Congressional majorities legislate, Obama and his loyal acolytes in the Senate block all but the most desirable laws.
BUT…THE HOLIDAYS COMING WILL BE OK--NOT GREAT, BUT OK. BUY RECENT LAYOFFS ARE "DARK CLOUDS"
There are now three holidays coming: Halloween—which has become a real spending holiday; Thanksgiving—the family holiday that leads into Black Friday-like discounting; and Christmas—(and all the non-Christian seasonal holidays) will be fine. Containers are coming, already, from Asia. When incoming containers are up 6-8% in later summer and early fall, the goods will be in the stores. Consumers will spend their gas savings, and then some, and retailers will discount sales to move the goods. Look for a mix of low and not so low prices, as some commodities are down in cost due to lower Chinese demand, and others (especially some food items) are up due to Mother Nature asserting herself. Autos are selling but the UAW is loading its guns to shoot Fiat/Chrysler and the auto industry in the foot--or worse. Apple is booming but very iPhone or iPad takes $$ away from other purchases.
NEXT YEAR…NOT SO CLEAR, BUT MAYBE NOT TOO BAD…
If energy prices stay fairly low, which they probably will, during the heating season, consumers will enjoy another break. And 2016 is an election year, so the politicians will be reluctant to do much to damage the economic outlook. The wild card issue is whether, finally, a Clinton gets hung out to dry, literally. It appears clear that Hillary has lied, broken rules (if not laws) and jeopardized American information security by her actions. But will a Justice Dept. run by Obama's democratic allies, even bother to take proper steps. Maybe the FBI will stand up and be counted. Short of that, don't be surprised if all the Clinton illegal/irresponsible actions are lumped into one big case, and a friendly Democratic Judge is found who throws the whole thing out. You read it here.
SOMETIMES THERE AS SIMPLE EXPLANATIONS TO COMPLEX ISSUES
Why is the US economy struggling, and US foreign policy a confusing, troubling mess? Simple answers suffice. Our president, Barack Hussein Obama is clueless in far too many cases, and indecisive ("gutless" some would say) in others. The US economic malaise is a direct result of the Obama administration's anti-business/near Socialistic policies, and the fact that the policies are constantly in flux. Imagine playing a football game where the rules keep getting changed after the game is underway. Chaotic, right? Such it is with businesses trying to develop plans and strategies with the Obama administration's steady stream of roadblocks.
SET THE RULES AND WE WILL ADAPT AND COMPETE--BUT ONLY IF THE RULES REMAIN LARGELY THE SAME
Business leaders, for the most part, are astute people and once they understand the rules, even when the rules are onerous, punitive and illegal (until the Courts throw them out in 2-3 years)…businesses will adapt and compete. When everything is unknown (Dodd-Frank rules) or constantly in changing (Obama minions in the NLRB, EPA, EEOC, IRS, and a host of other agencies. Businesses keep their investments cautious or postpone them.
IF YOU WONDER ABOUT THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION: 50%+ ARE MINORITY, VS. PRIOR ONES AT 25%
Is there any doubt that Obama is loading his administration with minorities--and that begs the question whether qualifications of ethnic origin is the primary determinant for high level political appointments. Is it any wonder that the reverse-rascism issue comes up? Or the Muslim sympathizer question. When any executive--especially the highest ranking government executive in the country--loads up with acolytes, sycophants, minions and "people like him" (lefty liberals, Socialists, minority activists, etc.) the entire nation will suffer from less than its best possible leadership. Add in Barack Obama's tendency to dodge tough problems, disrespect anyone who disagrees with him and then talk his way around ever being responsible (to blame) for anything that goes wrong--a lot will go wrong--and it sure has.
NEGOTIATE HARD, TALK A BIG GAME, THEN CAVE IN—ZERO FOR THREE IN RECENT FOREIGN AFFAIRS DEALS
IRAN: TERRIBLE DEAL— Iran totally dominated and out-negotiated John Kerry and his kiddie-corps of negotiators. The US gave everything, not nothing except hollow promises from one of the the least trustworthy countries/leadership, imaginable. Kerry couldn't even recover the four Americans being held by the Iranian government
RUSSIA: WEAK, INEPT, DEFAULT— The combination of Barack Obama's imaginary red line, and inactivity opened the door for Vladimir Putin's move to take control of the Syrian mess. That assures Putin's buddy Assad will stay in power and the US is more out of the loop than ever. Since neither Obama nor Kerry had any idea what to do, or any willingness to do more than talk, perhaps this outcome is inevitable.
CHINA: A HOLLOW, MEANINGLESS DEAL— President Xi of China was the most recent of the three major countries/leaders that showed just how weak, naive, inept and clueless the American president continues to be. Obama talks in glowing terms about hollow victories in which nothing was assured except more of whatever China (and other countries) choose to do. America desperately needs new, stronger leadership.
ANOTHER FOOLISH ACT OF TRUST BY THE OBAMA WHITE HOUSE
I was excited to hear that the Obama-Xi meeting was going to deal with the tough issue of Cyberwarfare. Then I realized that once again, the solution is to "trust" (his time) the agreement-making Chinese when they agree to not attack infrastructure. However, nothing was done or even planned to deal with the Cyber-espionage and theft of countless kinds of other technological secrets and personnel identities. The Obama legacy is growing as the most trusting and naive presidency in the history of the United States of America. The problem is who the Obama administration is choosing to trust and the consequences if they trust is betrayed.
ONE THING IS CERTAIN. WHOEVER TAKES THE WHITE HOUSE AFTER BARACK OBAMA—WILL FACE HUGE PROBLEMS—FROM HIS LEGACY.
And it doesn't matter which candidate or party it is. One reason Trump has had such success is that he is known for fixing things that are not so good, and turning them into something better---but not always! His "affiliated entities" have suffered multiple bankruptcies--and he's largely dodged the bullets. That won't work in the White House!
THAT'S PLENTY FOR THIS TIME. SEE BELOW FOR SOME EXTRA READING.
BEST, JOHN

A COUPLE OF PIECES THAT WILL MAKE YOU GRIN AND GRIMACE AT ONCE
An Obituary printed in the London Times....Absolutely Brilliant!!
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- And maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, NOT children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death;
-by his parents, Truth and Trust,
-by his wife, Discretion,
-by his daughter, Responsibility,
-and by his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 5 stepbrothers;
- I Know My Rights
- I Want It Now
- Someone Else Is To Blame
- I'm A Victim
- Pay me for Doing Nothing
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

WHEN THE PRESIDENT OF THE US CANNOT BRING HIMSELF TO NAME THE SOURCE OF SO MANY PROBLEMS, HE IS EITHER CLUELESS, STUPID OR PART OF THE PROBLEM--HIMSELF
This is the administration that wants to bring thousands of Syrian refugees to the USA. They claim these desperate immigrants can be
"vetted" to sort out the actual or potential terrorists. What NONSENSE THAT IS. If only one-tenth of one-percent of the refugees are angry and want to strike out at someone--anyone--that would mean hundreds of risky people flooding our country.
