THE FIFTH GOP DEBATE WAS A REVEALING ONE
Here is my take on it:
—I do not like—or trust—Ted Cruz who supposedly “won”—or so many people say—especially those who aren’t paying attention (he lied or distorted facts in multiple cases—especially in his exchanges with Marco Rubio). The trust problem is magnified by his mis-stating the facts and using—them plus a lot of interruption/talk to appear win out. (The old quote “Methinks he doth protest too much” comes to mind.) Cruz is a “wolf in sheep’s clothing." He cannot be trusted. If he will misstate the facts, including his own record on immigrant path to legalization, he is just a GOP version of Barack Obama.
—I still like Marco Rubio because he didn’t distort the facts about him or his record—he owned up to the fact that things have changed since his immigration “gang of eight” bill was drafted in 2013. Yes, I worry about a first term Senator not having “run anything”…but a superior intellect, a grasp of an enormous range of issues, and personal integrity and charisma in speaking to real people, can elevate him to a leadership position.The president must surround himself with competent, experienced staff to help him “run things.” I think that is what Rubio would do. Plus, he is still the only one who consistently polls as the winner against Hillary Clinton—and that is a pretty important fact to consider.
—I like Chris Christie too, who was considered the other debate winner. I like him because he has run NJ, and been a Federal prosecutor, and he is a plain talker, who “tells it like it is, from the gut and his heart.” Maybe he’s too far back to move to the top, but so was a 4th place guy named Bill Clinton back a few decades ago.
—Donald Trump did “OK,” and I’m actually warming up to the idea that he might actually be the final front runner. His exaggerations and outlandish statements are his form of first stage negotiation—state a claim as far from the final outcome as possible—and then “walk it back to what you can actually accomplish, negotiate, or figure out. He’s nowhere nearly as knowledgeable as Rubio, but he has “run things.”
—The rest of them…will be rejected at the polls in early primary states…Jeb Bush is “done” even though this was his strongest debate—he still looked shaky and wonky. John Kasich would be good because he knows what to do and how to do it—but the poor guy just can’t come across well enough to a national audience. Rand Paul, Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson, et. al,. need to hang it up! Clear the race for the real contenders.

AMERICA IS IN GRAVE DANGER AS IT APPROACHED 2016—PERHAPS THE WORST SINCE WW-II, OR EVEN IN ITS HISTORY?
Since tonight is another GOP debate, I will hold this edition and lead off with a few post-debate comments… but I don’t want to minimize the magnitude of the danger we are in—and it is not fro ISIS, Putin, Iran, et. al. We are in danger from the “enemy inside”… Read on.

AMERICANS ARE WORRIED AND AFRAID
The economy seems like it is getting better until you read behind the rosy headlines and find that the number of workers (actually) unemployed and underemployed would at least double and maybe even triple the posted unemployment rate of 5%. That doesn’t even consider that job creation numbers are heavily skewed to low income jobs and a full work well had gone from 40 hours down to 30 hours. Workforce participation continues to drop, closing in on 60 percent, and with each drop, sets a new record low for the past 40-50 years. Welfare rolls are swollen with people seeking government handouts—and getting them. This is the new American Slavery: economic slavery, and ironically, it is being created by a (half) black man: Barack Obama. When Americans have can make more from the many forms of government welfare and disability that with a job, the very fabric of our society is beginning to unravel. Voters can be bribed—in many ways—and if you listen to a Democratic candidate’s speech (Hillary Clinton for example)…every speech contains more “freebies” to bribe voters for their vote.

BUSINESSES ARE WARY OF UNCERTAINTY—PARALYZING INVESTMENT WHICH COULD CREATE JOBS—BUT MOST OF ALL “SUSPICIOUS”
What are business leaders suspicious about? What new costly, anti-business set of regulations will come next from the Obama White House (either via Unconstitutional executive orders, or by the rule of Obama’s minions—jobs that are now filled by over 40% minorities—heavily blacks and Muslims. The InJustice Department reports to Obama and it is clearly ignoring the multiple, and egregious actions of Hillary Clinton (as it did the IRS). She should be indicted, according to the FBI. But she won’t be, because the Attorney General reports to Barack Obama, and he won’t permit it. Meanwhile, Obamacare continues to moved toward a dangerous slide into insolvency as younger, healthier Americans forgo insurance until/unless they become ill, and the mix of Obamacare participants becomes weighted heavily toward the older, sicker part of the population. That math simple is a slippery slope down to insolvency—and the Democratic solution will then be single-payer healthcare run by the government—with its great track record of (poorly) running anything (VA, IRS, EPA, NLRB, Amtrak, etc., etc.)

HAVING AN INCOMPETENT LEADER IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM; HAVING ONE WITH AN ANTI-AMERICAN AGENDA IS EVEN WORSE
Barack Obama told Americans in his 2008 campaign: He wanted to fundamentally change America. Now he is doing it. Changing it to a welfare state practicing economic slavery. Changing it to country that is the laughing stock of enemies and the bane of allies around the world. Changing it to a country that is so sensitive as a Muslim sympathizer (Obama’s true religion growing up), the the cannot even utter the words “radical Islamic terrorists” in a single phrase. There is only one thing worse that failing to solve big problems—that is failing to recognize them as problems and reassuring Americans with repeated lies and delusional statements mis-positioned as the facts or as truth.

OBAMA’S LEAD FROM BEHIND STRATEGY SHOULD BE APPLIED TO CLIMATE CHANGE TOO
Since Barack Obama talks a good game, but doesn’t do what he says, I have a realistic proposal. He likes to “lead from behind.” This is exactly what the the USA should do in climate change actions: Wait until China and India have taken measurable, proven and significant reductions in their contribution to the earth’s pollution and greenhouse gases—THE USA SHOULD DO NOTHING MORE. We have already done a lot (some would say too much under Obama!). It’s time to freeze our actions and regulations until we see HARD EVIDENCE THAT THE TWO LARGEST CONTINUING POLLUTERS—CHINA AND INDIA—make big, visible and productive changed. That is what the climate change discussions should have said—if we had a president with any guts and common sense stating our case.

When the President of the United States asks the television networks to set aside time for him to broadcast a speech from the Oval Office, we can usually expect that he has something new to say. But President Obama's speech Sunday night was just a rehash of what he has been saying all along, trying to justify policies that have repeatedly turned out disastrously for America and our allies.
This was not a speech about how the Obama administration is going to do anything differently in the future. It was a speech about how Obama's policies were right all along. Obama is one of those people who are often wrong but never in doubt. The president struck a familiar chord when he emphasized that we shouldn't blame all Muslims for the actions of a few. How many people have you heard blaming all Muslims? Even if 90 percent of all Muslims are fine people, and we admit 10,000 refugees from the Middle East, does that mean that we need not be concerned about adding a thousand potential terrorists -- even after we have seen in San Bernardino what just two terrorists can do?
The first responsibility of any government is to protect the people already in the country. Even in this age of an entitlement mentality, no one in a foreign country is entitled to be in America if the American people don't want them here. Obama's talk about how we should not make religious distinctions might make sense if we were talking about handing out entitlements. But we are talking about distinguishing between different populations posing different levels of danger to the American people.
When it comes to matters of life and death, that is no time for the kind of glib, politically correct rhetoric that Barack Obama specializes in. [my emphasis added]
Obama may think of himself as a citizen of the world, but he was elected President of the United States, not head of a world government, and that does not authorize him to gamble the lives of Americans for the benefit of people in other countries. The illusion that you can take in large numbers of people from a fundamentally different culture, without jeopardizing your own culture -- and everything that depends on it -- should have been dispelled by many counterproductive social consequences in Europe, even aside from the fatal dangers of terrorists.
Most refugees in the Middle East can be helped in the Middle East, and many Americans would undoubtedly be willing to financially help Muslim countries like Jordan or Egypt to care for these refugees in societies more compatible with their beliefs and values. The history of millions of European immigrants who came here in centuries past was fundamentally different from what is happening in our own times. First of all, those immigrants were stopped at Ellis Island to be checked medically and otherwise, and were allowed to get off that island to go ashore only after they had met whatever legal standards there were. Otherwise, they were sent back where they came from. More fundamentally, people came here to assimilate into the American society they found, not to become isolated enclaves of aggrieved foreigners, demanding that Americans adjust to their languages, their values and their ways of life.
Like so much that President Obama says, his talk of "stronger screening" of people coming into the United States is sheer fantasy, when even his own intelligence officials and law enforcement officials say that we have no adequate data on which to base a meaningful screening of Syrian refugees. When Obama spoke of the danger of our being "drawn once more into a long and costly ground war in Iraq or Syria," that was yet another fantasy, that wars are optional.
When terrorists are at war with us, we cannot simply declare that war to be over, whenever it is politically convenient, as Obama did when he withdrew American troops from Iraq, against the advice of his own generals. That is what led to the rise of ISIS. Our only real choice is between destroying ISIS over there or waiting for them to come over here and start killing Americans. As in other cases, Obama has made a choice that reflects politics and rhetoric, rather than reality.

I AM NOT A TRUMP SUPPORTER—BUT THIS IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT VIEW OF HIM AS A SERIOUS CANDIDATE
Readers know that I have been touting Marco Rubio as the best candidate—the one who can defeat Hillary Clinton (Hillary’s camp fears him most and polls confirm that he is the ONLY GOP candidate who outscores Hillary. I’d like to see Marco paired with a Governor (whose last name is NOT Bush). Either Chris Christie or John Kasich—both are excellent for different reasons. Kasich has the credentials and the track record—better than any one else. Christie is a better campaigner. Bush’s name on any ticket is a sure defeat for the GOP. Donald Trump heading the GOP ticket also leads to a GOP defeat in Nov. Forget Carson, Fiorina, Paul, and all the others. They are just “noise” that confuses the choice.

Win or lose, they win.But Trump doesn’t play by any of these rules. Trump breaks up this nice, cozy relationship between big government, big media, and big business. All the rules are out the window if Trump wins the Presidency. The other politicians will protect Obama and his aides but not Trump. Remember: Trump is the guy who publicly questioned Obama's birth certificate. He questioned Obama's college records and how a mediocre student got into an Ivy League university. Now, he's doing something no Republican has the chutzpah to do. He's questioning our relationship with Mexico; he's questioning why the border is wide open; he's questioning why no wall has been built across the border; he's questioning if allowing millions of illegal aliens into America is in our best interests; he's questioning why so many illegal aliens commit violent crimes, yet are not deported; and he's questioning why our trade deals with Mexico, Russia and China are so bad.Trump has the audacity to ask out loud why American workers always get the short end of the stick. Good question! I'm certain Trump will question what happened to the almost billion dollars given in a rigged no-bid contract to college friends of Michelle Obama at foreign companies to build the defective Obamacare website. By the way, that tab is now up to $5 billion. Trump will ask if Obamacare's architects can be charged with fraud for selling it by lying. Trump will investigate Obama's widespread IRS conspiracy, not to mention Obama's college records. Trump will prosecute Clinton and Obama for fraud committed to cover up Benghazi before the election. How about the fraud committed by employees of the Labor Department when they made up dramatic job numbers in the last jobs report before the 2012 election?Obama, the multinational corporations and the media need to stop Trump. They recognize this could get out of control. If left unchecked, telling the raw truth and asking questions everyone else is afraid to ask, Trump could wake a sleeping giant. Trump's election would be a nightmare. Obama has committed many crimes. No one else but Trump would dare to prosecute. He will not hesitate. Once Trump gets in and gets a look at the cooked books and Obama's records, the game is over. The jig is up. The goose is cooked. Holder could wind up in prison. Jarrett could wind up in prison. Obama bundler Corzine could wind up in prison for losing $1.5 billion of customer money. Clinton could wind up in jail for deleting 32,000 emails or for accepting bribes from foreign governments while Secretary of State, or for misplacing $6 billion as the head of the State Department, or for lying about Benghazi. The entire upper level management of the IRS could wind up in prison.Obamacare will be de-funded and dismantled. Obama himself could wind up ruined, his legacy in tatters. Trump will investigate. Trump will prosecute. Trump will go after everyone involved. That’s why the dogs of hell have been unleashed on Donald Trump. Yes, it's become open season on Donald Trump. The left and the right are determined to attack his policies, harm his businesses, and, if possible, even keep him out of the coming debates. But they can't silence him. And they sure can't intimidate him. The more they try, the more the public will realize that he’s the one telling the truth.
