UP TO THE MINUTE COMMENTS:
President Trump shows with his recent trip that he can follow a script—and a good one—when necessary. Now if only he will remember that when he returns home to the USA. He needs to stop creating his own distractions (albeit he may view them as set-ups for negotiating positions later, they are often “reactions”)… because they slow his progress and momentum, while feeding the media Trump Derangement Syndrome, and also weaken his support from the more skeptical or insecure parts of the GOP. The Democrats will oppose everything Trump proposes, UNTIL he puts forth something so indisputably valuable that they can’t—like an Infrastructure Rejuvenation & Jobs Program (minus $ for the Wall) that would benefit all Americans.
Of course the next paragraph still is stuck in the Democrats' minds and hearts:
NEWS BULLETIN TO DEMOCRATIC PARTY LEADERS: HILLARY LOST! DONALD TRUMP WON, AND HE IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
The GOP won the House, the Senate, and almost 2/3 of the State and governors spots. Amidst crowing about Hillary’s vaunted popular vote win, one fact is never mentioned: her entire popular vote margin came entirely from California, a state Donald Trump conceded to her and never campaigned in, because he knew he couldn’t win CA electoral votes.
TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME HAS REACHED EPIDEMIC PROPORTIONS AND THREATENS THE VERY FABRIC OF THE GOVERNMENTAL PROCESS.
HYSTERICAL, TWO-FACED HYPOCRITES AND OTHER UGLY BEHAVIORS: DEMOCRATS ARE THE DEPLORABLES!
Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi wanted FBI Director Comey fired just a few months ago, and are now apoplectic that he was fired—for good cause—by his direct boss’s (Rod Rosenstein's) input to President Trump. It must take a lot of wash cloths and makeup for these two Democratic leaders to wash and fix up their TWO FACES. The word vehement hypocrite doesn’t even do justice to their transparently partisan hate for Trump. One after another Democratic leaders roll out demands for special counsels or impeachment, seeking to hunt for more dirt on Trump to publicize.

Trump doesn’t help himself, because he feels (rightly so) that they are attacking him constantly—no matter what he doesn't—or doesn’t do. The Daily Press Briefings resemble "witch hunts." If I were Trump, I’d shut them down. Do one per week--maybe--when it suits my purpose. (Sean Spicer has finally begun to shut down repeated question after question built upon hearsay, speculation and hypotheticals constructed to yield more made-up news.) Bringing in a new person, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, will not solve the problem. When mobs rule, order and logic disappear. The only way to “shut down bullies” is to “knock them down” figuratively if not literally.
NEWT IS RIGHT: TEAR APART THE CBO AND STOP THE DAILY BRIEFING—GOING TO WEEKLY, MAYBE, OR IRREGULARLY WOULD BE EVEN BETTER
The Congressional Budget Office works for Congress and has be uniformly WRONG for the past 8+ years—on almost every forecast. And yet, their continued, inaccurate and likely wrong forecasts are taken a “gospel” and used to stop important legislation. CONGRESS: STOP THAT PRACTICE—it’s within your power to do so. NOW: Change to irregular briefings, when it serves the purpose of the President, and not those of the opposition media.
THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA MAKES-UP NEWS, FABRICATES SOURCES, AND INVENTS INNUENDO—TO FIT WHAT THEY WANT TO WRITE
They call it hypotheticals. I call it lying and distortion. When the NYTimes and Washington Post can’t find legitimate sources of dirt on Donald Trump, they manufacture it and the “trump it up” into a big noise—to suit their own lefty-liberal fanatical hate for the Trump. Every liberal media outlet has some inside source (unnamed of course) of whatever they want to print—even if none of them were present or privy to what was said, done or actually happened. The Made-Up-News stories are echoed so many times, they almost begin to sound factual until you peel back the veneer of bias, lack of credible attribution and thinly veiled smear attempts. It would be only appalling if it were not so frightening. Much of what was done in Hitler’s Germany and what the Democratic Party is attempting to do, has so much in common, that the only parts missing are the jack-booted troops. (Unless you consider the hordes of paid demonstrators being sent to be covered by the media and convince uninformed Americans that this crap must all be true.
THEY ARE BLOCKING THE CONDUCT OF THE REAL ACTS OF GOVERNANCE
In case no one noticed amidst the blizzard or hate Trump media, there are real acts of governance attempting to be done. Taking over 100 days to fill his cabinet, the president now must fill hundreds of other spots. Democratic obstruction has been obscene, and mindless. If Trump wants it, we are against it. If Trump says it, it is somehow distorted, blown out of proportion and elevated to an impeachable offense. Repeal and replace the failing ACA has become drowned in the made-up-media mania. Tax reform, a much needed stimulus for growth has been kicked to the roadside by media vandals and Democratic demagogues. Regulations are being slashed—in spite of their obstruction. FILL THE HUNDREDS OF ADMINISTRATION SPOTS ASAP—HOWEVER NECESSARY (Majority vote in Senate). Get rid of the Obama carryover saboteurs.
SQUEEZING OUT THE LEGITIMATE, COMMON-SENSE CONGRESSIONAL MEMBERS
There are a lot of good, honest legislators being BULLIED into inaction in Congress. The avalanche of Trump-hate articles in the media has reach astounding proportions. 90% of every mention of President Trump is negative—many of them hysterically, over-the-top, distorted to be more negative than even a shred of truth would permit. The GOP members of Congress need to learn the first rule of stopping a bully—stand up to the bully—and push back, hard.
CHAOS IN THE RETAIL SPACE IS ALMOST AS BAD AS GOVERNMENT
Dick’s is pulling back. Gander Mountain is going under. Galyans/BassPro is wondering what to do to sustain sales. Hint: Sporting Goods is a regional business and doesn’t react well to being treated like a national one. (Surfing gear is a slow seller in Minnesota and snowshoes aren’t very popular in LA.) Target sales and store traffic are down. Sears is almost done for—selling legendary brands like Craftsman to Stanley-Black & Decker. Penney is struggling, but staying alive, barely. Walmart seems to be surging back—one bright spot. There’s a food fight in food stores, and Walmart is winning. Kroger & Public are fighting valiantly but the Germans are coming; Aldi is already entrenched here; LIDL will build hundreds of stores in the SE USA. Unused Mall Department stores are reopening as grocery stores. Why? Because Department stores are losing share every month to on-line sellers, led by amazon.com and a host of others. Payless Shoes is shrinking. Rue21 is failing. Limited Stores are gone. To add pain to misery, tourism is down, impacting luxury retailers who are tourist favorites. The savior? e-commerce—which might rejuvenate retail stores as pickup and shipping locations, Ironic, isn’t it. KEY POINT: 70% OF US GDP IS CONSUMER SPENDING, AND MOST OF THAT IS RETAIL PURCHASES—OF SOME KIND!
THE CYBER ATTACK I’VE WARNED ABOUT FOR YEARS IS HAPPENING, IN SMALL PIECES, SO FAR
Suspicions are rampant that North Korea is behind the recent retail hacks and ransomware attacks. So far, even if the group is from there, it’s proving hard to tie back to the government. That may not be possible. However, something must be done about Kim Jong Un’s continued defiant attitude and rapid weapons development. (Remember Stuxnet used anonymously in Iran to slow nuclear progress.) It’s time to turn cyber attacks in the other direction and go after North Korea’s critical systems—but of course NOT from the US government. Just like they do—from a “proxy” hacker group who just happens to have the US best interests at heart. In this case, “a good offense is the best defense,” and it doesn’t have to be bombs or missiles. I’ll be some South Koreans might know how to help.
THE STUDENT DEBT LOAN BOMB MAY SURPASS THE MORTGAGE MELTDOWN
Student debt is now $1.7 Trillion. The average student has $34,000 in debt. Nobody knows how to deal with it. Forgiving it all means the equivalent of defaulting all those who loaned it. Not doing so forces all the students who somehow thought these were not real debts—if they even knew what that means—and have no idea how they’ll ever pay them off.90% of new loans originate with the US Dept. of Education—isn’t that great news. “The fox is guarding the henhouse.” Socialization of debt is the liberal answer, but really it’s no answer at all. For profit colleges have by far the highest loan default rates. Nobody even considers how much that impossible debt-based education will let them earn—or how long it will take—if ever, for them to be debt free. Buy a home? Forget about it; not with staggering debt. Maybe this is a good one for the not-so-brilliant former president who presided over 8 years of its explosion to figure out what to do about student debt. Oh, wait, I know his answer: pass it on to taxpayers in the form of even more astronomical national debt. Hey, Barack, doubling down never wins on a losing hand. Or didn’t the Commies teach you about that when you were young?
A LITTLE HISTORICAL LEVITY—WITH A BITE—FROM A GOP PARTISAN CORRESPONDENT
A FISHING (or fishy) STORY
The king wanted to go fishing, so he called on the royal weather forecaster and inquired as to the weather forecast for the next few hours.
The weatherman assured him that there was no chance of rain in the coming days, So the king went fishing with his wife, the queen. On the way he met a farmer on his donkey.
Upon seeing the king the farmer said, "Your Majesty, you should return to the palace! In just a short time I expect a huge amount of rain to fall in this area".
The king was polite and considerate, he replied: "I hold the palace meteorologist in high regard. He is an extensively educated and experienced professional. And besides, I pay him very high wages. He gave me a very different forecast. I trust him."
So the king continued on his way. However, a short time later a torrential rain fell from the sky. The King and Queen were totally soaked and their entourage chuckled upon seeing them in such a shameful condition. Furious, the king returned to the palace and gave the order to fire the professional. Then he summoned the farmer and offered him the prestigious and high paying role of royal forecaster.
The farmer said, "Your Majesty, I do not know anything about forecasting. I obtain my information from my donkey. If I see my donkey's ears drooping, it means with certainty that it will rain."
So the king hired the donkey.
And thus began the practice of hiring dumb asses to work in the government and occupy its highest and most influential positions. The practice is unbroken to this date and thus, the Democrat symbol was born!!!
ANOTHER CORRESPONDENT’S REPORT…NO WAY TO VERIFY (EXCEPT IT’S FROM GOOD SOURCE)
Sent to by a former Marine and retired attorney. Worth the short read.
Dear Family and Friends,
Most of you know that our son works in a leadership position within US Special Operations, specializing in counter-terrorism, at the Pentagon. I spoke with him last night to get his view of how the first week of the Trump administration was perceived there. It was a short conversation but very informative.
He said the difference is nothing short of amazing. It is almost as though you can feel it in the air, in the pace of people strides, in the expressions on their faces. But beyond that, the change in process has been immediate. Within 48 hours several action orders that had been languishing for up to six months between State, NSC, and the White House, were approved and executed. Over the last 8 years ( our son has been there for about 15 years) and particularly, the last 3 to 4, the atmosphere has been stifling.
Every little thing had to be vetted by dozens of 30-year old State Department lawyers (with no military experience) before it even got up the chain, effectively neutering the senior officers and reducing effectiveness to near zero. This past week, he took something to General Dunford, our Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and within minutes it was approved by the SecDef, General Mattis (both Marines, by the way) and green lighted.
There is new energy flowing through the whole building. There is a new sense of purpose, a new resolve that is palpable. A cloud has been lifted. Say what you will about our new president, and there certainly is a lot ( pro and con) that could be and is being said, the folks at the pentagon are walking with a new skip in their step.
Thought you might like to hear about this.
THAT’S PLENTY FOR NOW— AND IT IS LATE COMING TOO YOU.
HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY WEEKEND, AND REMEMBER ALL THOSE WHO SERVED SO WE CAN BE FREE.
JOHN
