Please pray for our son Mike & his family who are “hunkered down” in Naples, FL as the eye of hurricane IRMA passes directly over them. Their house is boarded up and we are hoping it withstands the 100mph winds. Most of all, they are safe for now, on the 3rd floor of a relatively new nursing home... and hope they stay that way. The huge storm surge (predicted at 10-15 feet!) is at least as large a problem as the 100 mph hurricane winds and expected 10-12 inches of rain. Friends in Marco Island are hopefully all evacuated or entrenched in super strong, high spots. This remarkable church is growing fast, It is now up to 27 locations in the South Central USA, and has tens of thousands of people like us, who, after going there in person a few times, watch it on line every Sunday morning—although it’s available from Sat. PM through all day Sunday. We first went there, where it was started, in Edmond, OK—by pastor Craig Groeschel—almost 20 years ago. Daughter Lisa lives now and took us there the first time. What took so long? These vulnerabilities have been known by many people for decades. North Korea (DPRK) understands that a low atmospheric nuclear detonation can literally destroy the USA by permanently destroying all electronics and the power grid that feeds them. THE USA IS FINALLY OVERHAULING ITS NUCLEAR ARSENAL
Until recently, the few scientists who knew how the controls on the US underground missiles were from my generation, familiar with vacuum tube electronic controls, still in use!! Scary? You bet. Of course no one discloses what is being done to upgrade them, but hopefully a lot. Next, the USA has ships and planes that were taken out of service with useful life left—but the weapons, avionics and electronics for control and communications need upgrading. That’s faster and cheaper than building entire new ships and planes. This solution needs to be explored and exploited—and fast.
LET’S ASSUME GOOD, NOT BAD INTENTIONS
The obstruction that troubles me and everyone who thinks remotely like me, is drive by people who are as certain that their deeply help beliefs and the rationale behind them, are as valid as are mine and those who think like me. That includes (mostly) President Donald Trump. I have friends who are long time Democrats, who I respect a lot. I know that if I sit down with them, we can find common ground and probably agreement on many issues. Somewhat, until the recent agreement Trump made with Schumer, Pelosi (ugh) and the Democrats, nobody even considered that possibility.
Sure, political agendas are what gets in the way. The GOP and its leadership, especially Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have been disappointing. So have groups like the Freedom Coalition, who would rather “lose” on behalf of the American people than find an tolerable compromise solution. They are the very definition of “dead right.” Progress depends on realizing that all positions and perspectives have value—some are just “better” than others—in the minds and hearts of those proponents. Can’t our leaders set aside narrow political or ideological positions and find a solution that serves the greater good—the American people. The same applies to the biased media—whichever side their bias supports.
IT’S TIME TO REBUILD AMERICAN MIGHT--RATHER THAN WAIT UNTIL SOME ROGUE MANIA DESTROYS IT.
