Subject: THE ENTERPRISE—THE 2024 ELECTION CIRCUS BEGINS, WITH IT AMERICA’S FUTURE IS IN JEOPARDY
On a personal note: Going in for medical reasons next week. Time to stop editing this edition and post it. Opinions are mine and based on publicly available info I could find and conclusions that follow.
I STARTED THIS BEFORE LEAVING FOR A TRIP TO EUROPE
Little did I realize that after 11 days in Italy & Greece (beautiful places), we would come home to CHAOS in NYC & US air travel. Make no mistake, we were happy to get back to the USA—we forget how good we have it here in the USA. We were brought back to reality after a 10-hour flight on a "Delta partner” --ITAir (Italia Transporto Aereo--an awful byproduct of a split with Air Italia). The Airbus 330-900neo plane creaked loudly in our area for the entire flight—as if the bulkhead partition was ready to separate from the fuselage. (eek!) There’s much more to that airline that was bad: E.g. business class upgrades were sold out (we were told 3 times) but boarded to find empty biz class seats right in front of our coach (bulkhead) seats. But I digress!
THE SAGA CONTINUES, BUT WITH AN END IN SIGHT: Our son-in-law found 2 rooms for Tuesday night (@Hampton Inn--NYC Financial District) and a Lyft to take us. The next step was finding a one-way rental car that could fit with 4 adults with vacation luggage, to drive from NYC to Columbus, OH. He found one, early Thursday, AM out of Newark Airport—so…we found 2 rooms @Hampton Inn for Wed. night—near the car rental & a Lyft to Newark. The drive home took 8 hours, and though “Smoky” all the way, roads were good and traffic moving. We got home late afternoon Thursday, (48 hours late), exhausted but relieved. Our daughter and son-on-law found continuing flights to their OKC home at 1AM Fri.

Collusion between China, Russia, Iran and North Korea is a real threat. Threats to Ukraine, Taiwan, and the US itself must be taken very seriously. The USA must invest more heavily in defense. It has fallen behind. Foreign policy decisions are being made by a weak group of Biden’s mediocre choices.
THE WORLD IS FULL OF OTHER TROUBLES AND RISKS.
COUNTLESS REPUBLICANS CROWD INTO THE PRESIDENTIAL RACES, WHILE THE “CLUELESS TWO” —BIDEN & HARRIS—HIDE THEIR INEPTNESS—REVEALING A DANGEROUS LEADERSHIP VACUUM IN AMERICAN GOVERNMENT WITH THE DEMOCRAT PARTY IN CONTROL.
More than half of the Dem party admits they don’t favor or respect either Joe or Kamala, but they sit idly by while highly qualified GOP candidates form a "circular firing squad" to provide "campaign fodder" for "Biden’s Basement Campaign” writers. Never before have the leaders of this great country hidden from view and avoided questioning, to conceal their astounding lack of competence.
BEWARE OF RELIANCE ON & BELIEF IN POLLING—"Figures can lie and liars can figure” (and they can/do lie with selectively biased polls. Most polls sample 1000+/-people, not always properly chosen, but then represented as evidence on who’s leading when & where! Nominal margins of error in the 4-5% range can be far from that accurate. How, who, and when, where pollsters ask questions can prove or disprove almost anything. Name recognition (alone) is no assurance of quality in leadership. Use your good judgement and don’t believe the media propaganda.
THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION CONTINUES TO ISSUE IMPRACTICAL OR IMPOSSIBLY FOOLISH MANDATES:
The EPA asserts foolish new regulations that endanger a fragile U.S. energy grid, in spite of the fact that the expertise and responsibility lies with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission—and NOT the EPA. Power Plant emissions limits but offers no feasible alternative! The electrification of everything will struggle with an inadequate supply and distribution of electricity. EVs are only better for the climate overall, IF the energy generation and distribution, climate impact and charging stations development can keep up—but it can’t!! Banning gas stoves & appliances — led by clueless and thoughtless CA & NY—is a troubling ”red herring” distraction.
Danger is tangible, repelling both companies and tourists alike. Remaining Police are stymied by idiocy of repeat offender criminals, youth and criminal mobs terrorizing innocent bystanders). Shootings and deaths are at fearsome levels (Chicago Memorial Day weekend: 53 shootings & 11 deaths—just a normal Chicago weekend!) The list of lawless cities is too long to print here, but includes many of America best-known cities (and states). Sanctuary cities are stymied by their own terrible policies and liberal District Attorneys, who are also a big part of the problem.

INFLUENCE IN AMERICA IS SHIFTING; THE LIBERAL LEFT AND MAINSTREAM. MEDIA ARE CREATING DEFINED MINORITIES WITH DISPROPORTIONATE (and sometimes dangerous) INFLUENCE
This is neither healthy, nor good for America’s future. The 2024 election cycle will be unpredictable in many ways. Donald Trump’s fate will be disruptive. He is in a perilous problem area of having too much conflicts of public persona and too many enemies that can damage him. Yet his core followers still consider him “their hero.” He’s too powerful and influential to ignore, but too weak to carry and and win election.
THE GOP HAS “TOO MANY” TALENTED PEOPLE JUMPING IN TO LEAD, BUT "TOO MANY" MEANS THEY ARE UNABLE TO UNIFY BEHIND A COUPLE OF STRONG, POPULAR LEADERS—(& ABLE TO DISPLACE A TROUBLED FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP)
It’s unclear how this challenge works out, but it must resolved for America to be sustainably successful.
THE DEMS HAVE THE OPPOSITE PROBLEM—FEW STRONG , COMPETENT YOUNGER LEADERS AFTER HAVING BEEN DOMINATED BY AN “OLD GUARD” OF PERILOUSLY FLAWED AND NOW AGED, FRAGILE LEADERS.
Biden at 80+ is in cognitive decline, but still in power. Harris is an incompetent pretender, who is one Biden stumble and fall health-wise away from inheriting the presidency, as the least competent VP ever. If she inherits the presidency, even briefly, it will be a disaster of global proportions for America.
THIS IS A HUGE SET OF PROBLEMS, AND BIG PROBLEMS CAN ONLY BE SOLVED BY 1) UNDERSTANDING AND DEFINING THEM, AND 2) THEN, SOLVING THEM!
Problem definition: choose via collaborative compromise the strongest AND most electable new leaders and policies. Dems are failing broadly, but thus far have clung to control. That must end. How and with whom that can happen will be the subject of future editions of THE ENTERPRISE.

WE ARRIVED AT JFK AT 7PM TUESDAY NIGHT TO FIND 1—DELTA HAD CANCELLED OUR RETURN FLIGHT, 2—NO OTHER FLIGHTS WERE AVAILABLE from NYC METRO AIRPORTs TO COLUMBUS, OH (or anywhere in OH) for 3-4+ days, 3—NO ONE-WAY RENTAL CARS AVAILABLE (4 adults and baggage), and 4— HOTEL ROOMS WERE SCARCE & FILLING UP FAST.
WELCOME BACK TO THE USA, NYC STYLE! All this thanks to bad weather and mostly an inept, understaffed FAA (Yes, Mayor Pete’s dept.!) miserably short of staff & ATC, and has beed for months) especially in the congested NYC airport complex. Thanks to the efforts of our daughter & son-in-law, (experienced travelers), we claimed our bags (a wise choice) & stood there wondering—"where will we stay, and how/when will we get home."

INEPT BIDEN CABINET APPOINTEES have no knowledge or experience in the field in which they were appointed, and soon after, must be withdrawn! Competence depends not on “looking good, and talking good vs. doing good.” Cabinet nominee after nominee is disqualified, or worse yet get in (Majorca, Buttagieg, Blinken, et. al.) and have no clue how to lead/manage to fix anything. States & large cities are equally mismanaged: CA’s Gov.
