AND WHILE CHINA STEALS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY FROM THE USA TO CLAIM THE SOUTH CHINA SEA & TAIWAN
AND WHILE NORTH KOREA IS THE ILLICIT SUPPLIER TO ALL OF THE "EVIL EMPIRE”
AMERICA SUFFERS FROM BIDEN & OTHER MISGUIDED LEADERS WHO INCUR INFLATION AND IMPOSE A HUGE DEFICIT, FOR ALL THE WRONG PURPOSES.
IN AMERICA, WE ARE BLESSED WITH DIVERSIONS (SO FAR, ANY WAY, UNTIL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS CREATE DANGEROUS US SLEEPER CELLS.)

LET’S COVER THE LAST ITEM FIRST—THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON IS DRAWING TO A CLOSE AMIDST A SCANDAL
BACKGROUND: There’s a saying, “Football isn’t a matter of life and death around here—it’s more important than that!” Well.maybe that’s extreme, but “The" Ohio State University, (near where I live) and the University of Michigan (The Team Up North —TTUN) are two huge universities, with big alumni fan (short for “fanatic” followings). In case you’ve been out of the US for two years, (or two weeks,) and haven’t heard, after a long dominant (9 of 10 years) winning streak, OSU has lost to TTUN in each of the past two years. Three years ago, Jim Harbaugh (“TTUN coach”) refused to bring his team to Columbus where they were nearly certain to get badly beaten. He blamed “Covid," but many think it was his “Career" he was worried about. He’s been interviewing with NFL teams for several years.
THEN in a “coincidence of events” Michigan borrowed some coaching from Jim Harbaugh’s brother John’s NFL team and were fortunate to recruit a bunch of good football players. Viola'—Michgan suddenly became a powerhouse team.
Two Steps: It turns out that the resurgence had two important factors:
1) Recruit a group of good players, and then borrow help from your brother’s NFL coaching staff, then maximize the impact by CHEATING!
2) No more guessing at what opponents would do on offense or defense: “just steal & video the opponents’ game signals"—BAM—you can become dominant. Use a low-level staffer (Connor Stalions) to secretly violate the BIGTen Sportsmanship rules on “stealing" opponents offfensive play call and defensive signals—FOR TWO SEASONS! (which Coach Harbaugh claims “deniability”— "I don’t know anything about this.”) Offensive and Defensive Coordinators now can know exactly what the opponents are going to do—in real-time from stolen signals—which is a huge advantage.
THIS IS WHEN HARBAUGH CLAIMS THEY WERE VICTIMS OF HARDSHIP AND PERSECUTION BECAUSE THEY WERE CAUGHT CHEATING AND PUNISHED! HE CLAIMS THEY ARE NOW ‘AMERICA’S TEAM” AND SHOULD GET SYMPATHY FOR BEING PUNISHED ("because everybody does it: steals signs & signals” BUT NOT IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF THE BIG TEN RULES.)
The additional claim is that the players should not be punished in their winning season—but what about the players on every other team they beat, and the teams they displace in the College Football Playoff.
THE “CHEATING SCANDAL” in a nutshell:
As it turns out, Michigan has several other issues under investigation, one including a former coach’s computer, containing allegedly illegal practices (not yet fully disclosed) resulting in Coach Harbaugh starting this season with the first of two 3 game suspensions, alleging multiple NCAA offenses. The second 3 game suspension was just imposed and is being appealed & litigated, but it is little more than a slap on the wrist—banning Harbaugh from sideline coaching on game days but still permitting all practice and game prep cocahing to continue. More NCAA violations are under investigation with possible penalties to come. Risks involve gambling issues, NCAA sanctions, etc.In its letter to Michigan, the Big Ten released some evidence that it cited when handing down this punishment. Some of the items were not revealed until today. Some of the evidence includes the following:
A large and detailed chart listing the names of individuals assigned to attend past and future games of opponents of Michigan
The NCAA gave the Big Ten evidence that they could prove that videos taken through in-person scouting could be linked directly back to Connor Stalions.
The 2023 schedule of Michigan’s scheduled football opponents
A color-coded chart reflecting past attendance of games and where individuals still needed to attend future games.
The names of individuals assigned to certain cities and locations.
Monetary amounts associated with attending certain games.
The SEC Commissioner also gave the Big Ten information that a staffer purchased a ticket to the SEC Championship Game.As you can see, the Big Ten had plenty of evidence to hand out the punishments that they did. They also said in the letter to Michigan that further punishments may take place based on future evidence gathered by the NCAA. This saga is far from over.
The final chapters are yet to come:
The Ohio State vs. Michigan game on Nov. 25 — AT Michigan—to see who wins, without the CHEATING help. Hopefully no lives are lost, but sadly, careers of players and coaches of competitors are damaged, and the considerable talent and hard work of the players is marginalized by breaking the rules.
====================
THE FEATURE—ELECTRIC VEHICLES —(AND "THE ELECTRIFICATION OF EVERYTHING”)—ARE AN IDEA WHOSE TIME IS NOT QUITE HERE YET—BUT BEING WIDELY MANDATED BY “CLUELESS JOE" AND HIS MINIONS IN GOVERNMENT.
HOWEVER, OFTEN THE BEST OF IDEAS COME WITH UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES
A wise man once said, “One fool can ask more questions than a thousand experts can answer.” When Americans vote “fools” into the leadership roles of American government (e., g., the Presidency, the Vice Presidency and multiple key Cabinet, Senate & House positions,) the results are what is evident now—CHAOS caused by foolish decisions and mindless mandates. When large groups of people with vested interests pressure these “fools” into mandated actions, (which nobody understands the full consequences) trouble follows—not caused by climate change or weather; caused by foolish humans.
The Climate crazies…blame everything they need to justify (to support their lifestyle) on “Climate Change”. E.g., Biden’s “existential change warning.” This massive HOAX has spread through a media desperate for sensational news, while intellectually competent scientists actually try to rein in their peers, they are called “deniers”,” then ostracized or shouted down! For those “Climate Change” devotees reading this, here are three thoughts and two credible books to read.
Infamously, Al Gore said “the truth is an inconvenient thing,” only to learn later the he was distorting or misstating what he thought was truth! He was famously wrong!
Facts:
Climate is different from weather. Climate is much longer term and spams millennia. Climate existed long before human population in the billions began spewing pollutants! During much of this time, centuries ago, no effective measurements of “climate change” even existed. The reliable, long-term historical data comes from geological studies and deep-ice-drilling. These reveal the enduring nature and true long-time-cycles of Climate Change, which humans have minimal effect on when viewed for centuries or millennia.
Weather is highly variable, volatile, unpredictable, and much shorter-term than climate. Weather spans months, years, decades, and (maybe) longer time frames. When countless humans in places like China, India, etc., began fouling planet Earth with heavy metal contaminants, massive air pollution, caused by fossil fueled (coal) power plants they altered weather (but had minimal impact on climate.) Less developed, (populous) countries had little or no concern for pollution. Much (70%+) of China’s arable soil is contaminated beyond recovery! Its air pollution is so bad, it is sickening or killing Chinese people, while blocking the skies with clouds of polluted air. Weather, however, is the volatile and more immediate consequence of human behavior that destroys the places where humans should have never built, in spite of the known vulnerability to storms, floods, and such. Weather is measurable now, but very difficult to predict.
Climate has withstood the Earth’s population growth from a few million to billions.
The foremost expert for the Obama Administration, Stephen Kooning, quit after years of watching the myth of Climate Change be spread, misused and distorted! He took time to write a scientifically insightful book Unsettled: What Climate Science Tells Us, What It Doesn’t, and Why It Matters. Because zealous climate change advocates don’t want the truth to be known, readers are still unconvinced by Kooning’s book. to them I offer Heaven, and Earth, written more than a decade ago, by Australia’s leading geologist, Ian Plimer, which says the same thing, but based on geological studies: “the rocks don’t lie.”
With this underpinning consider the foolish, lemming-like mandates of being carbon free, or “green” with fossil fuels eliminated by 2025, 2030, 2050 or whenever. These “fools in high places had no idea how those lofty but arbitrary goals could be achieved, but creating multiple consequences, some of them unintended. Further, the vaunted Paris accords (which Biden, Kerry, et. al. are pushing the US to transfer billions of dollars to the worst of the polluting countries, with little evidence of improvement—except American taxpayers money wasted.
Here are the problems, issues, and consequences of the EV mandates with no idea of how—or if—they can be dealt with:
1. Electric grid and capacity in the US is unprepared for the “electrification of everything”—especially millions of cars, trucks, stoves, etc. (Worst case, A solar storm could wipe out part of the grid, as could a clever hacker or vandals with rifle shots into power transformers!) China generates electricity to produce its EVs and required components by burning coal—the dirtiest environmental option!
2. Charging electric cars takes much longer than pumping a tank full of gas—extending trips by hours. Delivering electricity to an out-of-power EV is far different than a gas can full of gas. Trips that require recharging en route need more careful planning to find, use and hope charging stations are in the right places.
3. Finding compatible charging stations is difficult, and sometimes, impossible, and while Tesla has a good network, it’s far from enough locations to serve other vehicles. Deals between Ford & Tesla to use compatible charging stations will help—eventually!
4. Travel range estimates are overstated, and seldom consider the loads, terrain, temperature and how far a full charge lasts until low charge warnings pop up. This is a potentially huge “stranded traveler problem!”
5. EVs are very different. Heavier, mechanically simpler but much more electronically complex, potentially vulnerable to hackers, with far fewer trained repair mechanics or technicians.
6. Drivers are unfamiliar with “how to drive EVs” and can damage or limit them by stalling them under load or running batteries too far down.
7. Reality is setting in: Automakers rushed to proclaim plans introduce EVs, only to find they cost more, and after the initial novelty, sell slower than expected. (China is far ahead in making lower cost EVs, which could flood the US car industry with imported cars.)
8. States depend on gas taxes to fund new road construction. No one has considered how to replace infrastructure carrying heavier vehicles (batteries are heavy) not using gas! (Fuel economy regulations need manipulation to fund comparable metrics.)
9. Mandates force auto makers to rush into US Battery production which is lagging behind mindless mandated conversion schedules. Most of the battery materials come from China or other faraway places, not the USA—not yet anyway. Joint auto company & battery maker plants are just being built. (Tesla built its battery plants first. US makers are rushing to catch up. A big Honda/LG joint venture is underway in OH, and several other large JVs are just starting now.)
10. New EV Supply Chains must be built to support the potential of EVs, and that includes Trucks, which represent a totally different set of challenges—range, load, time to charge & between charges, and huge infrastructure issues. This takes time, money and planning—not just "reacting to mindless mandates!"
Bottom line: these "mindless mandates" of carbon-free deadlines from politicians (some of whom are the “fools, who have no clue about the many other consequences (e.g., power grid insufficiency, fire hazards, and disposal of depleted batteries) will plague EVs of all kinds for the rest of this decade. The next time you hear these promises, remember the warning I opened with— A wise man once said, “One fool can ask more questions than a thousand experts can answer.” Maybe it should say, “leaders with little regard for the problems their mandates cause will be long gone, leaving the voters who elected them with the consequences, problems, and bills for fixing them.”
It seems that Honda & Toyota are on the right track, building gas-electric hybrid self-charging vehicles for the next transition, maybe five-ten years, while America figures out how transition to EVs and to solve the problems caused by "fools mindless mandates" and we build an entirely new industry, supply chain and EV infrastructure.
I’M JUST THINKING OUT LOUD. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
John
