This edition of THE ENTERPRISE has been a long time coming, interrupted by some medical/surgery issues. Those issues are treated now and my recovery is well underway. This will be a big "catch up." I don’t expect to prescribe fixes for many issues I mention, but I’ll expose them, provide info and thoughts you won’t find in the mainstream media (unless you are a voracious reader)! I’ll leave it to you to sort out the built-in biases you’ll find in nearly everything we read or hear!

This fine WSJ Dec.. 16-17, 2023 column by Peggy Noonan zeroes in on the problem. Universities, even the big famous ones (featured in the news—Harvard, MIT, Penn) but many others too, have lost their way, their ethics, and their purpose. Many major UNIVEFSITIES. are well on their way to losing students, parents and corporate supporters, followed shortly thereafter by also losing their reputation and standing. Worst of all, they don’t even recognize how rapidly their downfall is coming at them. The Biden mandates insisting that Americans buy EVs is costing $Billions, as unsold cars pile up on lots, after companies spent $Billions rushing to design & produce them! By the way, Biden’s vaunted $$Billions to build charging stations has never been implemented.
TESLA LAUNCH CAUSES STIR It’s CyberTruck, all stainless steel, is delivering late due to delays in forming the new stiffer metal.
TESLA RECALLS TWO MILLION CARS because of concerns about the Auto-driving system. These are fine, albeit expensive vehicles, except—it seems—that EV innovation is tricky and hard, and buyers are reluctant to pay the high prices, with driving ranges often overstated, and charging stations and times hard to find and maintain—and now self-driving cars misbehave (just rarely, but dangerously).
THE U.S. IS DEFENSELESS AGAINST A DRONE TERROR ATTACK

The Hamas attack in Israel showed the power & danger of drones. Federal laws make it hard for law enforcement to respond to threats, by bestowing all kinds of rights to own & fly drones with few or none of the responsibilities for the harm they can do!. Drones are small, flexible, hard to detect, and can carry deadly payloads. As usual, the technology is attractive to disruptive users because (small—.55lb. To 55 lb.) are virtually invisible and untraceable, since there’s no transponder to identify who’s flying it, and from where—to do what!
The big military MQ9 Reaper is more of a remotely piloted fighting plane, but with a remote control pilot that can be continents away!
As usual, places like China, North Korea and other smaller rogue states love them for their relative low-cost, invisibility, untrackabikity, and ease of inflicting damage, large and small, anonymously!
WHILE POLITICS FEATURE DEBATES OF GOP PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFULS all far behind Donald Trump, and now dropping like flies.
RON DESANTIS WIPED THE FLOOR IN A “GOVERNORS DEBATE” WITH A SMILING (& LYING GAVIN NEWSOM, with made-up answers) Because every metric used was a Loser for Newsom & CA vs.DeSantis & FL.
No matter how hard Newsom smiled and tried to change the subject and the metrics, he couldn’t alter the true facts. Check the facts in the attachment above. Newsom is glib, cute, stylish and very short on substance, long on style! When he’s smilin,’ he’s lyin’. His results stink, both as Mayor of San Francisco (a disaster) and as Governor of California (becoming a disaster), led by LA’s crime and streets full of illegal immigrants and the homeless, and lawless.
WILL THIS EVER MATTER? NOT UNLESS OR UNTIL DESANTIS AND NEWSOM SQUARE OFF IN A HEAD TO HEAD ELECTION.
It’s just another piece of evidence showing how badly Biden has hurt America with his chaotic, failed leadersip and dangerous open borders fiasco.
TO WRAP UP WITH A FINAL SNIPPET FROM THE PEGGY NOONAN OP-ED PIECE:
"The elites who run our elite colleges are killing their own status. They are also lowering the esteem in which college graduates are held. … Well, if that’s the case, who needs them? Is it even worth having them around in the office? The people of a country have a greater stake in all this than universities and their students understand. And the elite schools are lowering their own standing more than they know."
THE HOPE AT THE END OF THIS DEBACLE IS THAT SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY, BIDEN GETS OUT OF THE WAY (WITHOUT YIELDING TO THE AWFUL INCOMPREHENSIBLE HARRIS) AND TRUMP, FOR WHAT EVER REASON, ALSO GETS SIDETRACKED (HE’LL NEVER CHANGE)
We have seen Haley and DeSantis as the new leadership Americans desperately need. (Remember, Ronald Reagan was not expected to win either!)
IF FOR SOME REASON THE POLLS ARE RIGHT AND TRUMP IS NOMINATED TO RUN AGAIN, HIS ODDS OF HIM BEING HIS OWN WORST ENEMY, ARE GREAT, NO MATTER WHAT THE POLLS SAY. (Maybe he’ll adopt a “basement campaign"?😉)
THEN IT’S IN THE HANDS OF GOD — AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE — LET’S HOPE THEY CHOOSE WISELY.

PS: I’ll be back in touch as the frantic campaigning for 2024 gets really rolling. I’m privately hoping for the GOP to both regain the Senate Majority AND hold onto the House, while some miracle sorts out the Trump vs. Biden disaster scenario.
